Karen’s Incredible Slaw Recipe By :Alan Barasch Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:15 Categories : Salad Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 cup Cider vinegar 1 medium cabbage head -- sliced 1/8-inch thick 1 Onion -- chopped 1 teaspoon Salt 1 Teaspoon celery seed 1 Teaspoon dry mustard 1/2 Cup olive oil 3/4 Cup sugar Pour sugar over cabbage & onion. Toss and let stand Combine vinegar, salt, mustard, and celery seed in saucepan. Bring to boil. Add oil and return to boil. Let cool Pour over the cabbage mixture and mix. NOTES : Best if allowed to sit overnight. Careful, the vinegar mixture will clean out your sinuses while cooking! I substitute Grapeseed Oil for the Olive Oil. Any salad oil is acceptable.
