Alan's Empanadas There are 2 versions of this dish. One uses hamburger and the other is vegetarian. The veggie version is tastier. Ingredients: 1/2 cup pitted green olives, coarsely chopped 1/2 cup pitted black olives, coarsely chopped 1 med yellow or white onion, coarsely chopped 1 tsp cinnamon pinch salt pinch black pepper several slivers of ginger 2 tbsp butter or olive oil 1 can Grands(TM) Biscuits Optional: 1/2 lb lean ground meat ---------------------------------------------------- [If using ground meat, reduce the amount of olives slightly and brown the meat before continuing.] 1. Saute onions in oil on low heat until transparent. 2. Add remainder except biscuits and heat until slightly limp. 3. Split each biscuit horizontally into 2 rounds. 4. Stretch and flatten each round slightly, then place about a teaspoon of the filling in the center. 5. Fold over and seal edges to form a crescent. 6. Bake according to can instructions.
